2018 is now here and with a new year comes new resolutions! But as we start the new year, there are a few things that we need to make sure stay in 2017. So, I have took it upon myself to compile a list of seven things that should not be brought into the New Year.
1.Soundcloud Rappers. Why were there so many Soundcloud rappers popping up this year? And none of them had talent. Don’t get me wrong, I love “Gucci Gang” just as much as the next person, but 2017 Soundcloud rappers were doing the utmost this past year. I can’t deal. Y’all became a joke and people recognized you for the stupid stuff you did and not for your music. You guys are still making music on your voice memo app and not making any money. Boss up in 2018.
2.“Drink Your Water” Twitter. I’m tired of y’all. No, like seriously. I’m tiredddd! Any time someone with a sliver of a pimple say something, y’all tryna dump water down they throats. Chill out. Please. Drinking water doesn’t solve everyone’s acne or “bad skin” problems.
3.The “Water Is Wet” Argument. It’s not. Period.
4.The Divisiveness of the Trump Administration. Do I even have to explain?
5.Refinery29 Makeup Tutorials. Are those bad on purpose? Or are they being serious?
6.Overly-sensitive people on social media. Y’all, not everything is racist, transphobic, homophobic, etc. I feel like we’re living in a time now where no one wants to offend someone, so now people are walking on eggshells and it’s beginning to take the color out of the rainbow we call life. Now, don’t get me wrong, feel free to continue to call out blatant bigotry and hate, but don’t go searching for it in everything. Take the sticks out y’all’s pants.
7. The HBCU vs. PWI argument. Where did this even start? Like seriously? No university is better than the other in terms of education. Especially when trying to achieve a bachelors degree. They still snatching our money, we all broke, and we all getting degrees we may or may not use in the future. Everyone is being great, so leave the arguing alone, please.
So that’s it y’all! Do you agree? Have anything else that you feel should be left in 2017? Sound off in the comments and I’ll see y’all soon!
